Key upgrades in the TLR 8IGHT-XT/XTE Truggy RC Racing Kit
Team Losi Racing product developers have paid close attention to every detail of the TLR 8IGHT-XT/XTE Truggy Race Kit. The result is a 1/8 scale RC racing truggy that’s fully engineered for heightened performance on the RC track, thanks to large and small improvements to its chassis design, suspension geometry, and more.
The TLR 8IGHT XT and TLR 8IGHT XTE chassis has been thinned to 3mm to lower its weight and widened to increase stability on the track. An improved driving balance has been achieved by shifting weight in the chassis forward. New chassis side guards have also been added for an improved fit onto the chassis.
Other upgrades added to the RC racing truggy’s design include front and rear internal pinion bearings that are enlarged for greater durability. The throttle and brake actuator now has ball bearings to add smoothness feel to the throttle feel. And the TLR 8IGHT-XT/XTE 4WD is equipped with a new sway bar system featuring adjustable length links and collars to keep the sway bars centered.
Improved suspension geometry for RC racing success
An entirely revamped suspension system gives the TLR 8IGHT-XT/XTE RC Truggy Race Kit the speed and nimble handling needed to strike terror in your 1/8 scale RC racing opponents. Long front and rear suspension arms increase stability and give the TLR 8IGHT-XT/XTE the ability to smooth out even large bumps in the track. These all-new Flex Tune suspension arms accept stiffener plates that enable RC drivers to tune the suspension flex as needed for the best results on any RC track. Combined with the RC truggy’s shortened wheelbase, the improved RC racing suspension increases grip and gives the handling greater agility.
TLR delivers the tunability and durability that 1/8 scale RC racing requires with the TLR 8IGHT XT and TLR 8IGHT XTE Truggy Race Kit’s optimized and lightened shocks. They lower the RC truggy’s weight and center of gravity while improving handling with pistons that allow more blow-by. The machined aluminum shock caps have threaded holes for easier, more consistent oil bleeding. Using the shocks’ bladders and emulsion seals, you can tune the TLR 8IGHT-XT/XTE to the RC track conditions and to your driving style. The lightened front and rear machined aluminum shock towers also increase tunability by allowing more shock and camber link mounting positions.

The TLR 8IGHT-XT/XTE RC Truggy Race Kit can be built for either nitro (XT) or electric (XTE) 1/8 scale RC racing. The included, lightweight TLR 8IGHT XT nitro engine mount has a large footprint that reduces flex to avoid chassis fatigue on high-traction RC racing surfaces. A one-piece aluminum electric motor mount for the TLR 8IGHT XTE is also supplied, and is designed for easy pinion size adjustments. The battery box will accept common LiPo receiver packs as well as Li-Ion receiver packs.
For whichever power type you choose, the TLR 8IGHT-XT/XTE truggy’s cab-forward design increases down force for improved steering and stability.
